This advanced session will delve deeper into the intricate features of MagicSchool AI and demonstrate ways to maximize engagement and effectiveness within Student Rooms. Participants will customize student tools and learn to launch student rooms to support student learning.

This session introduces educators to the PLACES project– comprising professional development resources, innovative curricula, essential infrastructure, Open-Source ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi STEM Resources, and AI productivity tools for teachers in Hawaii to deliver place-based and culturally revitalizing Computer Science Education. Built over the past five years via community engagement and co-design, especially with Kaiapuni schools, our programs prioritize Indigenous language support, community-based projects, and environmental stewardship.

Join us to learn how teachers can integrate PLACES into Computer Science (CS) curricula. We will discuss strategies to connect CS concepts with moʻolelo, ʻĀina, and cultural contexts, making learning more relevant and engaging for students in Hawaii. Participants will leave with implementation approaches, sample lesson plans, and resources to enrich their classrooms with meaningful, locally grounded CS learning experiences.

In this interactive session, educators will explore the National Centers of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity (NCAE-C) program and learn about current federal initiatives aimed at advancing cybersecurity education. Participants will gain valuable insights into how these programs align with K-12 education goals and discover a wealth of free, high-quality resources designed to enhance cybersecurity instruction in the classroom. This session will empower educators with the tools and knowledge needed to prepare students for a secure digital future.
