About me
Leilani Phan is a high school senior passionate about robotics, STEM outreach, and marine science. As a key leader on her robotics team, she dedicates her time to building competitive robots and running outreach programs that inspire young students to explore engineering and computer science. Her commitment to fostering early STEM education aligns with her drive to make a positive impact through innovative solutions.
Leilani’s research includes studying Aiptasia anemones to better understand marine ecosystems, fueling her interest in engineering solutions for environmental challenges. She aspires to pursue mechanical engineering with a focus on synthetic reefing, combining technology and biology to restore marine habitats and promote sustainability. Leilani is the most recent winner of the 2024 NCWIT-Hawai‘i program as well as a National Honorable mention.
